October 6, 2012 - Garbage played at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO.  The live broadcast of the concert really showcased the packed venue. The challenge at the Ogden Theatre is limited camera placement and no space for a jib which we simulated with a robotic camera mounted high offstage.

GARBAGE: NOT YOUR KIND OF PEOPLE TOUR

December 1, 2012 - Daughtry and 3 Doors Down played a double bill at the Broomfield Events Center.  AXS TV broadcast both concerts as well as fill content in between sets.  Both bands ran a clean stage which made on stage cameras difficult, but, the 40 foot jib was placed in a way that viewers didn’t miss anything.

November 18, 2012 - Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, TX is an outdoor venue that feels like attending a concert in your friend’s backyard.  The venue has the unique city of Austin feel with the dirt floors and trees and restaurant balcony overlook.  Grace and the boys rocked the joint on their The Lion, The Beast and The Beat Tour.

GRACE POTTER AND THE NOCTURNALS

August 30, 2012 - Red Rocks Amphitheater is one of the premiere concert venues in the country and perfectly suited to live concert broadcast (on a clear, rain-free evening).  Tedeschi Trucks Band brought their bluesy 11 member band to Colorado for a hot evening on the rocks.

TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND LIVE AT RED ROCKS

December - For several years, I worked with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Men’s and Women’s Adult Chorus and the Children’s Chorale to direct the TV broadcast of one of the CSO’s largest events; their holiday concert.  Included here are a couple of snippets from the 2005 show which include my director track.

COLORADO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA HOLIDAY CONCERT

2011 - This 26 episode weekly pre-produced broadcast recaps the best of the week in Rockies baseball.  Each week we also interviewed the team manager for his perspective on the week.  The linked episode followed the team manager through his day; arriving at the ballpark, putting together the lineup, and during game time.

ROCKIES WEEKLY

November 14, 2012 - Jackson Browne played with opening act Sara Watkins, an expert fiddler.  The performance at the Paramount Theatre had an intimate feel due to audience participation.  The crowd would shout out songs and Jackson would play them.  As a director, it was a wonderful challenge to direct such a “fluid” playlist.

JACKSON BROWNE AND SARA WATKINS

Memorial Day - Every year 50,000 runners flood the streets of Boulder, CO for the 3rd largest 10K road race in the world.  Professional runners from all over the globe come to compete in the team competition.  I have produced/directed TV coverage for over a decade as both a live event and post-produced 60 minute program.
